L & J Feed’s story is one of humble roots that were carefully cultivated over time to grow and thrive. Just like the farming operations we serve!

It was in 1967 - in Kelso, Washington – that we first began our dream of L & J Feed. We started small; our company’s initial operations involved the sale of alfalfa from our family’s own eastern Oregon farm and the wholesaling of grain to feed stores. By 1989, L & J’s reputation had grown considerably - and so had our need for space. In that year, our operations moved to Longview, Washington where we were able to expand. By 2002, the Woodland, Washington, store was opened to better serve clients in the state.

Today, L & J Feed operates all over the country courtesy of its online store. We still, however, remain true to our family roots. Lyle Smith – who started L & J Feed with his wife Jane in 1967 – continues at the helm of operations today and has been joined by his son David Smith, as well as his daughter, Janet Cooper.

While we still offer basic feed as the staple of our business, we have expanded operations to meet the unique needs of a variety of clients. In addition to quality grain, hay, farm and pet supplies, we also offer bird seed, exotic pet supplies, garden supplies, fencing and more.
